Corporate governance is the system of rules, practices and processes by which a company is directed and controlled. Corporate governance essentially involves balancing the interests of a company's many stakeholders, such as shareholders, management, customers, suppliers, financiers, government and the community.
The concepts of leadership and governance encompass strategic direction, plans and policies, effective oversight, regulation, motivation, and partnerships that integrate all health systems building blocks to achieve results. A leader steps up in times of crisis, and is able to think and act creatively in difficult situations

Governance is "the process of decision-making and the process by which decisions are implemented (or not implemented)" which is can apply to corporate, local, national and international government interactions between other sectors of society.
